image for Genetically Modified Crop Found Growing In Garden

Health officials and officers from the Ministry of Agriculture descended on a village garden today after a tip off that genetically modified foods were being grown there.

A spokesperson from the Health and Safety Executive said, "We understand that this individual is not licensed to be part the large-scale GM crop trials being undertaken in the UK, and as such, is in direct contravention of European Union Directives that cover genetically modified organisms."

"Until samples have been analysed under proper laboratory conditions it is too early to say if any prosecution will follow. All I can say at this moment in time is, that the plant is of the bean variety, and it is very unlikely that any of this crop has entered the food chain."

The widowed owner of the house claimed her son Jack, had grown the crop from what he said were 'magic seeds.' She also claimed she had no knowledge of anything unusual growing in her garden but did admit that neighbours had complained about the loss of daylight in the village.

In another incident, two workmen who were cutting down the beanstalk were crushed to death when a giant fell out the sky and landed on them.

Make Morag's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
