image for Money begins to fall from sky
"I'd have done the same" : dead ex PM Harold Macmillan backs the Bank's plan

It's begun to rain money. Huge piles of notes have begun to form across the UK. No-one really knows what is going on, but it is believed that a special Bank of England plan, codenamed 'Project Christ' has swung into operation.

Current thinking is that because 'quantitative easing' is quite hard to spell and understand, and 'drop money' is easier to spell and get as a concept to the average man and woman on the street.

'Money come from sky. Get money. Spend money. You be ok' a Treasury spokesperson was seen to write on an enormous roll of wallpaper which was hung from 11 Downing Street.

At the same time a noose salesman was seen cold calling at the houses of Britain's leading 'bankers'. He was cheered on by crowds, and carried at head height through the street after successful sales.

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
