(From Our Man with the Crystal Balls, London; Saturday 19 June) World media attention focused once again on satirical website TheSpoof as the Murdoch publishing empire realised its top shock story about US Ambassador William "Stamps" Farish III relinquishing his post after less than three years' tenure had been pipped to the post some four days previously under the title "Unpaid gas bill: US Ambassador evicted from Regents Park".

Shivers ran down the spines of Newscorp hacks amid scenes of frantic embarrassment that their diplomatic editor must have sourced his story from the satirical internet site devoted to ruthlessly rooting out the roots of truth - wherever that may be.

Latest odds for other Spoof stories hitting world media headlines have now tumbled, in particular those relating to the imminent downfall and incarceration of President George W Bush and the inevitable demise of Queen Elizabeth II, whose husband in the Vatican so pines for her ashes.

Make queen mudder's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
