image for TheSpoof.com Announces Big Writer Layoffs
Typical Spoof Writer- Soon To Be Thrown Out On The Street

TheSpoof.com, the leading pundit for making the politicians that run our lives miserable, has announced that it will be making huge layoffs in 2009. Citing both a down turned economy and the loss of its greatest source of US material, the Bush administration, TheSpoof.com officials predicted a dismal future.

"How are we ever gonna replace these guys?" lamented Chairman Alan Nutcracker. "Bush, Cheney, Rumsfield- they are satirists dream team! Monty Python couldn't come up with an ensemble better than that! Writers will be the first to feel the ax."

At first there much disgruntled grumbling, but then someone said "Hey, we don't get paid anyway!", at which point everyone headed to the local strip joint to get soused. Meanwhile, TheSpoof.com owner Bernie Madeoff was seen living up to his name by sneaking out the back with sacks of cash.

This unfortunate development leaves the future of political humor in the semi-trustworthy hands of cutesy bits on the BBC.

Sorry about the downer news folks.
