Hubble picture of missing money taken through the black hole.

Professor Hugh Jarse was left red faced when it was revealed that the recent experiments using the Large Hadron Collider were responsible for the global financial crisis.

The top British boffin explained "When we started the experiment we, as predicted, were able to create a mini blackhole. Unfortunately we did not notice at first that during the brief period of time it existed it sucked £18 trillion out of the worlds banks."

Men in Black technology was used to wipe the memory of the incident from the minds of workers at the site however they forgot to erase the CCTV tapes which recorded the incident.
