Prince William tries on his Submarine Commander's gear

So now that Prince William has now successfully gained his wings which qualifies him to pilot aircraft, both rotary and fixed-wing, what next?

At a graduation ceremony held at RAF Cranwell today, Flying Officer Wales received his wings from his dad, witnessed by a smiling girlfriend, Kate Middleton who was in the audience. The Prince completed the course in a mere three months and now the couple intend to do something 'together'.

The pair managed to slope off to a quiet corner of the RAF College, but were intercepted by an eagle-eyed In Seine News reporter. A very excited Kate Middleton actually gave an insight into their future plans. She said;

"Now that 'my Billy' can fly, we are going to take part in the Red Bull Flugtag to be held in London's Hyde Park on Saturday 7th June 2008. I can tell you that I have been designing and building a flying machine along with my old woodwork teacher for the past year. Our break-up was just a ruse - a smokescreen to keep prying eyes off my design. We are going to win this! Bill is my hero - he always has been and will always be so. He will fly the machine and I am going to be his groundcrew,"

The dynamic duo will be competing with 39 other teams of fearless inventors who will compete for the coveted winner's prize by designing, constructing and flying their man-powered machines into The Serpentine lake which will introduce Prince William to the next phase of his military service - That of Submarine Commander

The crowd of spectators for the crazy flying extravaganza is expected to be 80,000 and demand is expected to be sky high. The home made flying machines are launched from a 20-foot ramp into the chilly waters below to compete for the coveted title of Red Bull Flugtag Champion 2008.

Kate revealed that the flying machine has already been tested on one of the Queen's corgis on a lawn at the back of Buckingham Palace just last week.

There is a rumour that younger brother Harry and Chelsey are following in their footsteps and are already planning their own.
