image for Dr X libel case continues
A location known to be linked to the accusations.

The court case between a man, who we can only name as Dr X for legal reasons, and Mr Aksh Onman has continued without any progress this week.

Mr Onman is accused of having blackmailed Dr X and extracting sums of money in excess of £500,000 over a period of two years. This case has raised questions about the morality of naming the accused in a blackmail trial when there is a possibility of wrongful accusation.

Mr Onman has been a successful operative for both MI6 and the SAS for the last twenty years, and has completed over fifty missions with honours.

However his career is now in the balance, and even if he is acquitted, he will not be able to complete any more operations since his anonymity has been compromised by press coverage of the case.

He is planning to take the case to the House of Lords if he is acquitted, in order to get the law changed about identification.
