The UK government has finally decided to implement its decision on ID cards.
From now on all law abiding citizens of the UK will be required to register themselves as individuals, handing over information relating to their DNA, iris templates and lifestyles - all to be indexed in the Accenture provided database.
Any citizen not complying will not have to be registered as the Office of UK Identity will not know about them.
When Smacqui Jith, (name disguised) the Home Office minister was asked about this potential lapse in ID coverage a spokes person for her said: "We are only interested in the British people we can identify; it is paramount that the Home Office introduces identifying technologies that work. Attempting to identify those miscreants that are not party to this process is impossible; we have targets to meet and can not rely on non-compliant individuals."
Identity cards in the UK will be rolled out in December 2007 once Smacqui Jith has put through the legislation to ensure the cost becomes part of the council tax remit.
