image for Minister In Sting Something Fishy Going On
"I know this looks fishy but it's not what you think it is" Chubb Protests his innocence

This is the moment that proves that government minister, Steve Chubb, is a bent as a nine pound note.

It shows sleazy Steve up to something fishy in a set up staged by The Spoof's 'Spoof Sheik,' in return for inside information on fishing permits for London's trendy Thames.

Lured
We set the elaborate 'sting' operation up in the top people's hotel, The Ritz, in London's leafy Peckham. Posing as the "Sheik with a shock", our reporter lured Chubb into a sleazy deal over the fishy fishing permits.

Hooked
We dangled the bait and greedy Steve was all too quick to run with it. We let it be known that we might be prepared to smooth our hooky deal if we could meet with the Minister.

Line
In no time at all someone from his office dropped us a line detailing the meet and it was all systems go. Greedy Steve was banging on the door of our suite demanding his bung and we were only too happy to oblige.

Sinker
As soon as he'd taken the dough we told him the game was up and reeled him in. He knew he was sunk and that salmon had stitched him up like a kipper.

Herring
His legal team threatened to silence the Spoof but we were herring none of it and suggested that he didn't carp on about it and, that furthermore, he should come down of his perch and sing a different tuna.
