The new Saddam salt shaker

Ikea announced record Christmas profits yesterday and claimed that it was all due to their new Saddam Hussein kitchen range.

"They've been selling like hot cakes, "said store manager Sven Zitgonnarain, "They are absolutely flying off the shelves."

The new range, brainchild of former American prisoner and double amputee, Abu Galoo, features Saddam salt and pepper sets, mugs and novelty egg timers.

"I had the idea when I was being beaten with a rubber hose in Abu Graib," said Abu, "I realised that the British people were fascinated with our glorious leader and it could be a best selling product."

Abu now hopes to cash in on the execution of the former Iraqi president with his new range of bathroom accessories.

"I am currently producing a Saddam soap-on-a-rope, which I hope will be hanging on bathtaps across the UK in the near future."
