image for Sunday Times to include new 'Reader's Wives' supplement
Times change at the Times

The Times announced today that it would be including a new 'Reader's Wives' supplement on Sundays.

A spokesman for the paper told reporters, "We at the Times are committed to giving our readers what they want and a recent poll has shown that they want filth....and lots of it. We will still be including all our usual news, gardening and lifestyle supplements but now our patrons can have a quick chug over their Earl Grey and kippers as well."

Lifelong reader and crossword aficionado Sir Gerald Pilkington-Smythe who was wounded in the Battle of Briton, told us today, "By Jove, it's about time. I have taken several hamburger shots of Lady Pilkington-Smythe and the old girl's cock-a-hoop about it. She put her teeth in especially for the shoot....although I've no idea why, you can't see her face."

Some readers however have complained that this is just another example of 'dumbed-down' Britain and that the Times should not be dabbling in pornography.

"Nonsense," said editor Bob Snatch, "We have been inundated with upper-crust totty, whipping their tweeds and wellies off and baring their bits with wild abandon."

The paper also announced that they would be including a 'Dear Deidre' photo problem page featuring models such as Rupert Everitt and Emma Thompson in various stages of undress and titillating poses.
