A startling announcement was made today when Maxine Carr went back on everything she has ever said in her life. On trial for attempting to pervert the court of justice and assisting an offender, Carr had previously gone on record to call her ex, who in the past she has always supported, that thing'. She had said, in previous appearances, that he was very controlling and had scared her.
Carr had previously been in full support of her ex, appearing by his side as the suspicion in the deaths of the two Soham children built. Now that it has become clear that their deaths were, at least partly to do with Ian Huntley, for some odd reason, unknown to us, Maxine Carr has chosen this time to begin to completely disassociate herself from her ex and the actions they took that fateful day.
In a surprising twist, Maxine Carr has now gone one step further by denying everything she has ever said in her life. Our man Michael Rayner was in Court No.1, and was able to put together this transcript.
Stephen Coward QC : "Mrs Carr, is it not a little convenient that now Mr. Huntley has admitted to being involved in the death's of these children, you have chosen this time to express your great dislike for him?"
Maxine Carr: "But I've never met him before you see. The first time I saw him was in the witness box, before then I hadn't a clue who he was. Living in Jamaica, you don't get to see these things do you! I hate England, I like to spend my time on beaches in and around Kingston. There's very little point being here, anyway, my name's Bob Durgey, I'm a gasfitter who's originally from Maidenhead!"
The case continues.
