image for Stars Desperate for Orphan Kids
Orphanages have taken the precaution of overstocking food supplies for the winter season

African adopted babies have become the latest 'must have' accessory this Christmas for the stars. Following on from Madonna et al, adoption homes in Britain are reporting that significant numbers of British kids are being left on the shelf, quite literally.

Wackford Squeers, Director of Operations at the Sunnyside Adoption Home in Manchester told The Spoof:

"It's becoming quite a problem, we've currently run out of stock of non-British kids and we don't know if there will be any more deliveries this side of Christmas either.

"Yesterday a rumour broke that we'd got some African kids in. When I looked out the window there were hordes of celebrities camped out on the pavement waiting for us to open. I saw at least half the cast of Coronation Street, a bloke form Eastenders and Noel Gallagher and his missus, all sat there on deck chairs drinking tea and coffee from thermos flasks.

"It all got a bit ugly when they found out it had been just a rumour and all we had received was a shipment of British kids"

Similar reports were reaching our news desk from all around the UK as we went to press.

"There hasn't been anything like it since the Tracy Island and Cabbage Patch crazes of a few years ago" said a spokesman for the Adoption Agency. "The problem's made worse by people adopting the kids, then auctioning them on eBaby. It's just shocking and terrible."
