Putting The Boot In

Wellington Boot sales are rocketing as Floods devastate parts of Britain and with more rain and gales to come!

Chief Executive of Wellington Boots Inc, Mac Tosh, has told Spoof that 'sales are going welly well' with special designs for TV appearances becoming very popular with politicians who want to put their boot into the swelling Thames.

The Duke of Wellington has been discussed at the High Powered Government Cobblers meeting and David Cameron has suggested the Duke is posthumously made an Admiral. A Cobblers statement after the meeting has announced that 'No expense will be spared in building a statue to Admiral Wellington to commemorate his Boot that is providing so much publicity for prominent people.'

A further communique from the Cobblers meeting has underlined the seriousness of the situation. 'We are concerned that Tory voters will be washed away by the floods and are taking all steps to provide Wellington Boots to all those who wish to parade for Television cameras'.

Mrs Bulstrode-Ferguson, from Datchet and Watchit Ladies Circle has however dashed the Cobblers desires by declaring that her members will swim naked in the floods to demonstrate the substance of the Government policies to combat climate change.

Make j.w.'s day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)
