image for Alistair Campbell puts forward his defence for the forthcoming War Crimes Trial
War Crimes Trial, coming soon...

Australia: Alistair Campbells key note defense, for any forthcoming war crimes trial. "If the pollsters were to do a survey, who had a greater commitment to wartime truth, Churchill in the Second World War or Tony Blair in Iraq, I think we know what the answer would be .??.??. it just wouldn't be true."

For some commentators the name Alistair Campbell is associated with the term, 'Former Spin Doctor' and not terribly good at it. Alistair Campbell claimed that Winston Churchill, the Second World War leader, used a 'bodyguard of lies' to deceitfully trick Adolf Hitler before the Normandy landings in June 1944 and then shamefully 'lied' to MPs afterwards to 'keep various deceptions going'...

These are the comments from some observers;

Lying to the opposition during a war to ensure that they don't know your plans is a very different situation to lying to your own people to get them to support a war that they themselves didn't believe in. Had Churchill come out and said - 'Look Hitler - I have to tell the truth here so here are the plans for our D-Day landings so you can be prepared' - what a fool this man is. Of course the British and Americans were going to keep secrets and give out misinformation once in a war and a war to the death for Britain but Blair lied to the British people about the necessity for war in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Spot the difference. Churchill had us fighting for the freedom of mankind. Blair had us fighting on a lie so that he could become rich. At the end of World War Two there were war crimes trials. Some pray for the day that they see Evil Tony in the dock.

Maybe Churchill was a liar but he didn't start a war. Blair started a war based on a lie. Churchill finished the job as a good public servant should. Once Blair ran off he abused the system for as much as he could. Churchill is dead where as leaches like Campbell continue to spin their lies. These ignorant people have learnt nothing because they believe they are the "best of the best." Poor deluded confused idiots.
Churchill was a bastion of British, whilst Mr Campbell is to honesty what Mr Blair is to Middle East relations.

Here is a psychological survey;

"campBells in the belfry. He is quite clearly mad. Aside from the fact that it was a completely different era ,different circumstances and war, his projected lunacy suggests he has either never studied WW2 or does not possess the mental faculties to understand anything he might have read or, even, has spent so much time knitting nonsense to protect bliar that the thread of his yarn is impossibly knotted. I wonder why he's saying this now ? Maybe he's just remembered his part in the HUGE WMD lie and is starting to shake a bit? Cowardly sort he is in my opinion."
