Welsh Witch

In a scene reminiscent of the Salem Witch Trials a Carmarthenshire County Council meeting was brought to an abrupt halt by the frenzied reaction to an undercover reporter. Tamsin Mallen was covertly filming the council meeting so she could put it onto her irreverent web-page about the beaurocratic workings of the workings of the local council.

The verbose, hot-air fuelled diatribes of the councillors when horrified they spotted the flame haired young woman filming with her mobile phone. One beetroot faced 'honourable' councillor was frightened when he spotted the young lady who is rumoured locally to be a 'witch'. "Witch!", shouted Penry Jones. Other superstitious council members got under the tables in the council chamber. Even the chairman hid under his mahogany desk and banged his gavel. "Order, order be gone witch", he shouted authoritarianly.

Tamsin Mallen smirked and continued filming confident that she would be able to up-load her forbidden film footage onto the "Pagan and Proud" website which she would send to all 89 of the witches in Carmarthenshire.

After the session when the cowering councillors quivering like jelly were coaxed out from under their tables in the Council Board Room by Security they explained their ordeal.

Chairman Gruffydd Howells said, "We were discussing council business as usual all in Welsh and I spotted this well-known trouble maker who has been banned from public meetings giving me the evil eye. All at once I felt pins and needles in my arms and legs and all over my body."

The other committee members said how they felt the evil influence of the 'outsider' with her evil recording device or 'instrument of the devil'. "We don't want pagans in Wales, we are a Christian country and we don't want our lovely Welsh culture being spoilt by 'the heathen English' who are like 'foot and mouth' contaminating Wales.
