image for Royal Baby Commemorative Mugs Already On Sale
HRH The Future King/Queen of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

Despite the news being less than a day old, a Staffordshire pottery firm has begun producing a commemorative mug for the royal baby.

The Emma Bridgewater firm, in Stoke-on-Trent, started work on the blue, red and white mugs late last night, and this morning has seen the first deliveries hitting the shops.

Managing Director Bunny O'Chloroform told us, "Of course we're very excited, and what better way to commemorate such an historic occasion than with a good old-fashioned Tea Mug?"

We pointed out that the picture on the front, of an eight-week old fetus in a sac of amniotic fluid, may not be the most appetising of images over Joe Public's breakfast but Ms. O'Chloroform reminded us of their contribution to "Paris Tunnel" jugs, designed after Diana's sad demise.

"Those jugs went global. I understand that bloodied closeups aren't everyone's cup of sick, but we did good business. These fetus pictures are just what we want."

Plans for when the child emerges are also well advanced. Keen observers will notice that the photo on the front is one of a 'King Edward'. As Ms. O'Choloroform reminds us, "For the first few months they all look like bloody potatoes anyway."
