image for Tank Engine Drivers Describe 'Living Engine' Nightmare on Island of Sodor

The National Institute of Tank Engine Drivers has revealed today that a number of their members have refused to work on the small island of Sodor following complaints that some Tank Engines appear to have 'minds of their own'.

It isn't the first time that comments have been made about the island, which does seem to have a strangely high number of trains for such a small area.

Previous reports have seen drivers telling tales of engines racing off on mysterious adventures, regardless of what their driver intends.

One driver - Reginald Johnson (68) - explained "The place is a bloody nightmare. That blue train is the worst. He drags you all over the island on these crazy adventures. They dont care about us drivers. One time, I ended up on this Misty Island place with 3 other lunatic trains. I'm never going back there".

Another former driver added "Don't even get me started on the diesel engines - they are even worse. Constantly hatching plans to cause trouble, and all I was trying to do was get through my working day. One of them is like a Bond villain".

Only recently, stories also broke that these problems aren't limited to tank engines. Suggestions of a heavy duty ship crane, a boat, a helicopter and even a jet plane all seeming to display similar disregard for their human counterparts.

A portly gentleman who runs the train service on the island was not available for comment.

Make Collins_and_Dutton's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
