image for "Hoodie" Gang steal surface-to-air missiles stationed on London tower block to protect Olympic Games
Yeah?

Several surface-to-air missiles and their launchers have been stolen from the roof of a Leytonstone tower block in East London by a gang of teenage "hoodies" who are threatening to shoot down police helicopters with them who try and film the upcoming looting and rioting scheduled to coincide with the school summer holidays.

The missiles, worth over a hundred grand a piece were nicked on Monday, just hours after they were placed on the roof of Fred Wigg Tower.

Several youths were seen hauling the missiles into a stolen Ford transit van.

The Ministry of Defence has promised to replace the missiles but have asked the public, should they spot the stolen equipment, to hand them into the nearest community support officer if they cannot find a real policeman.

Meanwhile suggestions that the missiles were to remain on the roof of the tower block after the Olympics had ended have been strongly denied as have suggestions that armed troops will continue regular foot patrols in east London long after the games have finished.

London Mayor, Boris Johnson, responded to rumours that large of parts of London were to remain militarized, until the kids went back to school as "poppycock".
