Three camels being kept overnight in a field by a travelling zoo at Brean Sands in Devon were about to be attacked yesterday morning after one of the zoo's lions entered the camel's field after having somehow managed to escape from it's cage. However, the lion soon found out that the camels were not going to become quite the easy breakfast the lion had thought. Local resident eighty-six year old Anna Gram who watched the scene unfold from a nearby bedroom window takes up the story,
"Oyv never seen nothing loik it in all moy loif," says Anna. "Them there hairy camels in that there field they just turned there bums to that vicious loyun. Next thing oi hears are these three massive explosions. Almost shook moy house down they did. Them there three hairy camels they'd let off the loudest farts oy'd ever heard with these two ears of moyne. That loyun was trembling in fear it was. It turned and ran out of that field back to the fresher air of it's cage as fast as it's four trembling legs would move. Had it not been for the brave actions of those three hairy camels that loyun could have caused carnage in the school playground just up the road."
Anna says she will be putting forward the names of the zoo's three camels, Dusty, Sandy, and Jamila for PDSA animal bravery awards.
