image for Prime Minister reveals Plan for Constitutional Change

It was confirmed by the Prime Minister today that plans for a far-reaching constitutional change that will involve the introduction of a new convention, that mystic instrument usually used by British politicians to cover up any sort of injustice inflicted on the general public, is to be fast tracked.

The new convention is being brought in following the recent revelation that Prince Charles and the Queen, instead of being powerless, have very real power in the form of a veto over any proposed legislation that might affect their interests. (That bit is not a spoof)

Indeed, since 1985 and until November 2011, there have been twelve requests for Prince Charles's consent to proposed legislation affecting his interests in the Duchy of Cornwall. Whether he has used his veto, or requested amendments to legislation, has not been revealed, and the Prime Minister has said there are no plans to change the status quo. (That's not a spoof either)

In view of the fact that there has been no media storm over this revelation, and in view of the fact that the British people seem completely indifferent to the undemocratic nature of these unelected royals having personal vetoes over legislation, the new convention being introduced is for all references to 'the people' or 'the public' in any future legislation to be replaced with references to 'the sheeple'.

Prime Minister Cameron has said that 'the sheeple' is a truer reflection of the nature of the British people, or should we now say British Sheeple, as they will put up with absolutely anything that comes their way without any complaint. Mr Cameron said he had discussed this measure with both the Queen and Prince Charles and they were both keen to see the new convention implemented as quickly as possible.

Make Wat Tyler's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
