Shaun the Sheep denies taking drugs while driving

Aardman Animations was today holding crisis talks with BBC executives after it was revealed the star of their award-winning series Shaun the Sheep had been charged with drug offences.

Shaun, 28, claims he was the victim of entrapment when police raided his flat in Mayfair in the early hours of yesterday morning and found a copy of 'Dirty Sheep doin' unusual things with a selection of continental pastries and some seasonal fruit', along with what is believed to be two kilos of Colombian breakdancing zoom-juice. Also arrested in the raid was Ethel Carter, who plays the twenty two stone monster sheep and bricklayer Big Maud in the series.

The show's creators are standing by Shaun at this difficult time, but some fans were quick to voice their dissension on the misguided star.

"He seemed like such a harmless sheep, didn't he?" said Jack Tate, aged 46. "I guess you just never know what people get up to behind closed doors."

Until formal charges have been made, the BBC have decided to continue with Shaun's contract and have begun work on a new spin-off series in which Shaun flies a suitcase of Venezualan pure out of Cartagena in a stolen helicopter.
