image for Manchester City Win The FA Cup - Next Trophy Due In 2046
A City Fan Celebrates On A Blue Moon

Following a 35 year hiatus, Manchester City finally became the pride of Manchester this afternoon, finally having their day in the sun, after for so long spent in the shadows of their illustrious neighbours.

One second half strike by Yaya Toure decided a stunning 1-0 demolition of Stoke City in today's Wembley showpiece.

"We will win another trophy," City manager Roberto Mancini said proudly. "Probably in 2046, in another thirty five years. United may have secured the league title at Ewood Park this afternoon, but that means nothing. Everybody who knows anything about football knows that the FA Cup is far more important than the Premiership."

An emotional Micah Richards unfortunately dropped a four letter word blooper in a post match interview, when he said:

"Look at the fookin fans, man!"

He probably won't receive a two match ban for that because he doesn't play for Manchester United.

United fans were apparently "gutted" as City lifted the trophy.

"I suppose that's it for us," one said in a voice tinged with emotion. "They've won the FA Cup now. We'll have to bin the 35 years banner in the Stretford End. We might as well pack it all in and call it a day. Winning the league and playing in the Champions League final is just nothing compared to City's groundbreaking achievement. We'll never hear the last of this. I don't know if I can live with the fact that they'll do it all over again in 2046. But fair play to them...wankers."

More as we get it.
