Two FA Cup matches were played to a conclusion Wednesday evening, with the winners proceeding to the quarter-finals of the venerable competition.
Aristocratic Arsenal - the 'Gunners' - of the Premier League, either defeated or were beaten by Leyton Orient - the 'O's' - of the NPower League One. It may have taken extra time and/or penalties.
The winners are scheduled to meet Manchester United in the next round.
Meanwhile either Manchester City or Aston Villa - both Premier League outfits - went through to meet NPower Championship side Reading, who triumphed over Everton the previous evening. Or they drew and will go to a replay.
Some players may have been booked - even sent off - others possibly injured.
Winning managers will have said they were glad to triumph but felt their players deserved the result and the losing managers probably praised the efforts of their side and may even have felt they were let down by some of the refereeing decisions.
If City and Villa drew, the managers will have said they needed to pick themselves up and be ready for the next confrontation - they, too, may have been disappointed with the refereeing.
