Mad About Transfer Fees

The closing of the transfer window just after the fees for some footballers have risen to £50 million or more, has caused the organisation Fall About to react with derision.

'How much do you get for a dive?' asked one FA member 'when I saw one footballer dive in his legs were apart and he made an awful splash.'

But footballers wives are reacting angrily to Fall About's comments. 'Our lads have short careers' said Jennifer Longlegs, whose father Daddy Longlegs used to play for Grimsby (Fish Authority) 'we can't afford to go to matches already so we have to watch our loved ones on the Telly. We need every penny we can get.'

But the Government is moving to take action. 'You can't have this level of expenditure when everyone is pulling in their belts' commented an irate George Osborne 'in the next Budget I am going to tax any football transfer fees of over £100, 000,000 with crippling rates. We can't have the man in the street mocked by these Russian mafia madmen.'

Fans are preparing to meet their new multi-million footballers with demonstrations and the police fear the situation may get out of control.

The shock of the transfer fee bonanza has traumatised the football world. 'We will pay the penalty for this' one manager mused sadly 'this will only add to the growing inequality in society.'
