The iconic sound of the South Africa World Cup must be the sound of the Vuvuzela. With a noise like an amplified bagfull of angry wasps, the constant barrage of buzzing swamped both crowd shouts and commentary.
Now Vuvuzela manufacturer South African "Bloody Annoying" are planning to make the instrument available to spectators of other sports.
First-up is the Open Golf at Royal St George's Golf Club in Sandwich, Kent, in July 2011.
Bloody Annoying Sales Director Dixon Kuntz says that the introduction of Vuvuzelas at the Championship will revolutionise the sport. "Kin you imigine tha scene, boy? The kaffir Woods about to hit tha ball on tha first tee? Suddenly the noise? Bloody brilliant!"
Other sports to be targeted include Snooker, Darts and international games such as Chess.
