image for Liverpool Kop Stages Post Match Sit-In Protest
Gillet And Hicks Go Home!

Immediately following Liverpool's 3-0 win over Sunderland yesterday a vociferous group of Kopites staged a flag waving sit down protest against the club's American owners Tom Hicks and George Gillet.

The sit-in protest went down a storm with Sky TV viewers as the Ford Football Special director worked frantically at keeping the protesters off camera and failed miserably.

Pundit Robbie Fowler didn't help matters by persistently shuffling about in his seat so that the cameras would pick up the protest. Fowler, who now lives in Australia with a shitload of crocodiles, snakes, and poisonous spiders has a track record of supporting protests going back to the Liverpool dock workers strike.

The protesters waved flags and banners saying "No Thanks - No Yanks"

Liverpool fans have never been happy with their American owners, who in reality do very little to benefit the club, and are currently even more disgruntled as it looks like their team will fail to qualify for next season's Champions League.

Oh, and they're skint too.

Independent observers are astonished that after all these years, fans of Liverpool and Manchester United finally agree on something.

More as we get it.
