image for Emmanuel Adebayor annoys Arsenal Four Times
Emmanuel Adebayor sets fire to the Arsenal fans, but the referee does nothing

Emmanuel Adebayor, the Manchester City striker formally of Arsenal has annoyed his former team not once or twice but four times.

"How can I say, I am annoyed," admitted Wenger in a press conference afterwards. "Firstly he stamped on Robin [van Persie], then he goes and scores the kind of goal he never scored for us. As if that wasn't enough, he, how can I say, ran 90 metres to, how can I say, take the Michael out of our faithful travelling heroic fans. I rarely see incidents involving players on my own team, but as Adebayor is no longer one of our players, I saw his indiscretions perfectly."

When pressed about the fourth reason for annoying Arsene Wenger's team, the Frenchman became very Gallic.

"The, how can I say, repercussions stretch not for just this match but beyond. The FA are likely to ban him for six matches, and this will mean he is out of contention for the Manchester derby, and without a former Arsenal player in their, how can I say, ranks, Manchester City are nothing. They will lose that game, and Manchester United are our only rival in this league. Apart from Chelsea, Liverpool and Stoke.

"I am one who is, how can I say, vindictive over rival player punishments after the event, but in this one instance I hope that the FA go, how can I say, easy on him."
