Rafa Benitez is reportedly on a new diet program as he's determined to be as fit as ever for the start of the season.

The discipline will be crucial having in mind limited breakfast portions consisted of "...three sandwiches of fried eggs, cheese, lettuce, tomato, fried onions and mayonnaise, add one omelet, a bowl of grits, and three slices of french toast with powdered sugar, then wash down with three chocolate chip pancakes"... Rafa is confident about his weight loss plan since it worked so well with Michael Phelps.

In addition to stuffing down calories he consumes "lots of pizza and pasta."

Sir Alex Ferguson has been very supportive promising to send Rafa a bottle of finest wine for each lost pound. Sir Alex warned Rafa not to exaggerate with the restrictiveness of daily calories intake in order not to become too lean.

In a response Rafa did confirm that he wish not to look like the swimmer himself, which is the reason why he has excluded fruits and vegetables from his food list.
