image for Boxing Legend Terry 'Boom-Boom' Minter All Set For Dramatic Comeback
Terry 'Boom-Boom' Minter In Training Last Week.

Former boxing champion Terry 'Boom-Boom' Minter has announced from his training HQ in Torquay, Devon, that he is now back up to speed and fighting fit. All he needs is a promoter and an opponent.

Minter 64 yesterday said:

"I'm ready. The training is done. It's gone well apart from my right knee, which plays me up a bit from time to time. And the arthritis in my shoulders. But a fighter's a fighter. Know what I mean?"

Minter, who rocketed to fame in 1969 when he clobbered an opponent with his corner stool and was almost banned from the sport for life, may struggle to find a suitable opponent.

Some observers commented that one possibility might involve another former champion Richard 'The Piston' Pump, 67 who currently resides in a bungalow. Pump made a name for himself in 1967 by hitting an opponent with a second's bucket before kung-fu kicking him in the face, in violation of Queesberry Rules.

Don King and Frank Warren have expressed interest, but neither has yet committed.

The fight may take place in the 'Dog And Dagger' pub in Deptford, although at this point we can't confirm this.

More boxing related BS as we get it.
