image for Hull City To Sign Michael Owen?
'I'm A Tiger' As Sung By Devoted Glaswegian Hull City Fan, Lulu.

In a daring move, Hull City manager Phil Brown announced last night that the club are hoping to sign out of contract Newcastle United and England striker Michael Owen.

The player has recently been touting his CV around Premier League clubs, but none of the big four have declared an interest, probably owing to the striker's injury prone career.

However, Brown feels that Owen can do a job for the Humberside club. Brown told us:

"Yes, Michael can certainly do a job for us. With the right training regime in place there's no reason why Michael shouldn't be able to lug the pies in from the delivery van on matchdays. And if he really applies himself, I don't see a problem with him changing the bulbs on my sun-bed. He could be a useful addition to the current squad."

More footy related frivolity as we get it.

Update:

Hull City FC went bankrupt, and are now trading under the name of Manchester United FC, also known as The Red Tiger Devils Soccer Squad. Owen's position remains the same.
