image for Manchester United team all catch Swine Flu

A spokesman for Manchester United has confirmed that the entire squad have been struck down, all contracting Swine Flu.

It appears that Gary Neville, who recently visited Mexico, is the individual who carried the virus to a United training session.

It is from there that the virus spread, leaving the entire team now being treated in North Manchester General Hospital. Each player is being kept in full isolation.

Strangely the only player who is demonstrating immunity to the virus is Paul Scholes who is now being genetically investigated in an attempt to cure the disease.

The consequence of this is that the club are now unable to field a full team against Arsenal in the semi-final of the Champions league. The club's owners, the Glaziers, are currently in negotiations to hire all of AC Milan's first team for the match however it seems unlikely that FIFA will allow them to disregard the number of rules that prevent that from happening.

Bookmakers have now made Liverpool FC favourites to win the Premiership.
