image for Alan Pardew "raped" by Essien
Believed to be Pardew's ideal position for the act

Out-of-work manager and now not-so-part-time football pundit Alan Pardew will be "raped" by Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien following his comments on BBC Match of the Day 2 on Sunday night.

Pardew has since apologised for his comments. But in a little known piece of BBC legislation, known as the "Eye for an Eye" code, any comment made on any of its channels that can be challenged, will be done in reverse.

Pardew, the former Charlton Athletic, West Ham and Reading manager, said describing a challenge where Essien clattered into Manchester City midfielder Ched Evans: "He's a strong boy. He knocks him off - he absolutely rapes him."

Essien told BBC News: "I'm not gay but the BBC has to abide by government legislation and there is nothing I can do about it. I am going to have to go around to Alan's house, pin him down on his dining room table and 'absolutely rape' him."

The code was used last year following the Jonathan Ross/Russell Brand radio phone call to Andrew Sachs. Ross, 47, left a message on Sachs' answer phone saying: "He [Brand] f***** your grand-daughter". Following an apology from the pair, Georgina Sachs promptly went around to Brand's flat and gave him a good seeing to.

The BBC are believed to be reviewing the code alongside listed-events legislation for sport. David Davies, former FA executive director and chair of the review panel, said: "I feel sorry for Alan. He made a comment out of context and now he is going to get a big black man going where the sun don't shine. And I doubt it is going to be pleasant. This code has to be changed."
