image for Chelsea to rely on quiz show for trophy
Could this be the home of the first ever "Footballer's University Challenge" Trophy?

Following the leak of recent IQ test results at Chelsea FC, the BBC is to launch a new footballer's version of "University Challenge". "The aim of the show is to prove that footballers are not just overpaid, thick b******s and the public are getting very bored of the likes of Gill Tramble anyway" said BBC head of quizzes.

Guus Hiddink is very excited about the prospect of Chelsea actually winning a cup this season. "This is probably the best chance Chelsea have of winning something this year"i] Bridge brainbox, Frank Lampard, will be made captain for the quiz show.

The west London club has withdrawn from the Champions League in order to prepare. They will instead take part in the Bull and Bush pub quiz in Knightsbridge on Tuesday nights to sharpen their general knowledge. An Encyclopedia Britannica sales man was seen at the club's training ground on Friday.

In able to achieve Manchester United's quest of winning every cup going this year, Sir Alex Ferguson wrote to the BBC to ensure that the quiz started after the Botswana challenge cup had finished in June. The Manchester United team is unlikely to include Wayne Rooney, a club spokesman declared.
