A writer on satirical news website TheSpoof.com, once travelled from Hull to Torquay to attend a football match, only to arrive fifteen minutes after the game had finished, says a report from a pub Up North.
Michael Flood, 45, the unfortunate traveller who made the mammoth 317-mile journey from Hull to the South coast back in 1981, had forgotten the incident until recently, when he was reminded of it by fellow Tiger on this very site.
Flood rolled up to the Plainmoor ground after his beloved Tigers had suffered a 2-1 defeat, and immediately boarded one of the coaches heading home, but not before the Bingo Enthusiasts had indulged in a spot of Freestyle Landscape Gardening around the sleepy Devon town's shopping and bar areas.
Police said they were looking for upwards of 100 "Northern yobs" who caused a lot of distress amongst locals, but, of course, never found them.
Flood now lives in Disneyland, and is still late for his tea every night.
