image for London Olympic Logo Explained, Public Agrees

The designers behind the much derided logo for the 2012 London Olympics have finally come up with a feasible explanation for the monstrosity, much to the public's relief.

"The logo has several meanings and connotations. First of all the fractured nature of the design represents the disjointed state of British sport at the moment and how all of our athletes dreams will be shattered in 2012". Jonathan Spack of King Design also defended the logo as he believes it is the first which represents all of the communities and all of the people taking part in the games;

"Well the pink and powder blue is a subtle reference to the many gay men and women who will be entering the games this year, legally allowed to do so openly for the first time since Greek times. The pink and blue is a subtle alteration of the colours of our national flag you see"

When quizzed on the rather lazy and shoddy nature of the composition, Spack added this;

"Ah yes, that's also deliberate. Not just representing the soul destroying shattered dreams and failures of our young generation, ohhh no, it also represents our disabled friends in the Paralympics, as the logo looks like it was put together by one of the top discus throwers from their games, the ones that throw it out of a metal hook instead of an arm."

Head of the London Games Committee Lord Coe remained optimistic about the inspirational nature of the logo;

"This logo will inspire and amaze, it will spur on our next generation of athletes to becoming world champions, record breakers! not the shit kind Roy Castle and Akabusi used to do, fucking Akabusi, I hate that guy!"
