image for Aston Villa fans praise rapid improvement of team
The Villa were hammered at Stamford Bridge

Fans of Birmingham's biggest professional soccer club today praised the teams massive '100% improvement over the Christmas holiday period.

Following a zero-eight setback against European Champions Chelsea, the London based Russian financed team from Stamford Bridge, the 'Villains' put in an encouraging performance to only lose zero-four at Villain Park to Tottingham Hotspurs.

Supporters of Randy Lerner's English soccer project were delighted at the halving of recent defeats.

A club spokesman said "Results are showing an upward curve. After 0-8 and 0-4, we're hoping for a 0-2, 0-1 and whisper it quietly maybe even a zero-zero"

Fans were quick to comment on social 'notworking' site Twitster. Jasper Carrott from the Midlands said "oooooooooop the Villlllllllllaaaaaaaaaa" Another fan BarumbarumBarum added "yam all right these results eh Moxy"

The club official added that the management are planning to add more defence backs in the January transfer window.
