image for Flintoff sets up bout with Harrison
Boxing gloves

Former England Cricket Captain and noted Pedalo pilot Andrew Flintoff came through his first bout as a professional boxer against Richard Dawson with a points victory. This was after Dawson had knocked Flintoff down in the second round.

Dawson the 79 year old former host of 'Family Feud' on ABC in America was also in his first professional bout which was all the more amazing as he died on the second June this year.

"It was a brave fight from the dead man." Steve Bunce commented "He had Freddie on the ropes with a comment about more people in the survey thinking that Botham was England's best all round player."

The win for Flintoff sets up a meeting with former Olympic Super Heavyweight champion Audley Harrison. The London born southpaw is looking to build up his career after a series of embarrassing losses including a loss to David Haye where Harrison failed to throw a punch.

"Audley will be a tough fight for Flintoff" Bunce commented "He is the same age and Andrew so a good deal younger than Dawson but he has been dead for a lot longer. Since around 2002 by my estimation."

Harrison said in a press conference "I'm going to hit him. I know recently I haven't been hitting in my fights but I think that not doing so is the reason I might have lost. I've been practicing punching an inflated paper bag and yesterday after an hour of punching it I was able to burst it."

Flintoff said "Year it were all right. I don't like getting hit so that is why I have signed on to fight Audley as he won't bother hitting. If I beat him I can spend the next two years trying to get a bout against a Klitschko."
