LeBron James has been sensationally suspended from competing in tonight's NBA Game 5 as the Miami Heat try to close out the Oklahoma City Thunder to win the NBA title after allegations of his involvement in a dog fighting ring surface.
James, who couldn't finish the Heat's 104-98 win in Game 4 Tuesday night because of leg cramps, was able to take part in the team's practice Wednesday afternoon and he was expected to be fine by this evening when the Heat try to close out the series, however, fit or not, he will not play.
NBA spokesman Callum Maxwell said "We have received videotaped evidence that clearly shows LeBron James involved in dog fighting. The video is appalling; there is nothing pretty about watching a dog, wearing boxing gloves, having to fight a tiny Mexican man in the ring. It makes the Michael Vick thing look tame. The dog, a French Poodle, clearly outclasses the poor guy, knocking him out inside the first minute of the first round. James can be seen in the crowd, cheering and laughing, this is just barbaric and not an image the NBA condones."
