The amazing Rajon Rondo of the Boston Celtics turned the corner on legacy in a losing effort in Game 2 of the Heat-Celtics playoff match-up.

Rondo put on his whirling dervish personality and spun faster and faster, like he was the ballerina in The Red Shoes.

Playing every minute of an overtime game, he transfixed the television audience and naysayers by remaining on court without break for 53 minutes, scoring 44 points.

Rondo detractors will probably point out that he fell short of a triple/double and did not win the game single-handedly. A few may even say Wilt Chamberlain did it better.

On a day when the unlikely became the shocking and events turned surprising, Rondo stood out over the likes of Justin Bieber and Tom Brady.

Slim and slight, no hot-tempered tough guy Justin Bieber (reportedly sought by police) assaulted an annoying member of the Paparazzi. Slight and babyish, Justin should bask in his new reputation.

Mild-mannered and polite Tom Brady (appearing in an Under Armour commercial) assaulted an annoying store clerk. The irritating salesman insisted Brady had a Boston accent.

Tom Brady's latest foray into TV acting may win him a gig on True Blood where everyone has a funny accent. Tom plays himself as a Bostonian in denial.

These three made the world better for a few moments to the delight of their fans. Who knew?

Nothing could be better for the world than to see someone trying to tip over windmills with a lance from their arsenal.

Don Quioxte gave us an impossible dream-but only Rondo turned it into the stuff of real life drama. Rondo dismissed the feat as "irrelevant" if you lose the game.

Though Rondo may deny it, he moved on to the next level in sports history with his performance, something to be remembered as a man giving the full measure in the face of adversity.

To be willing to give when there's no more in the tank, Rondo can one day rest with the certain knowledge that he reached for the sobriquet of "Superstar" on this night-and he made it.
