For fans looking for the augurs of victory for the Boston Celtics in their big Game 7 against the Sixers, they had to look only as far as Rajon Rondo.

As he made his way to the clubhouse at the TD Garden, strolling in alone off the street as he often does on a big day, he looked as somber as ever.

Significantly, he was dressed to the Nines, which so happens to be his number.

His street clothes, often a source of controversy as he has to rival the Fashionista of Miami Dwyane Wade, were without doubt utilitarian and about as deadly as a Mayan high priest about to cut the heart out of his opponent on the altar of Game 7.

D-Wade wears shocking pink to the game, and Rondo wears your basic black and green to the game.

Yes, hard as it was to believe, Rondo was wearing a green-checkered shirt with solid green collar and black sleeves as he came down Causeway Street. The last time we saw an outfit this audacious it was being worn by Pinky Lee.

Had Rondo stolen his outfit from a dead leprechaun? Well, not stolen perhaps. We couldn't tell if he had on the green emerald slippers with the curl to the toe.

He wore everything shamrock colors--except Lucky the Leprechaun's green derby.

This example of Celtics lore proved that now, more than ever, Rondo would bleed green. This was the prognostication and omen that a legendary member of the Celts was in the house.

As statements go, this one seemed to hold promise of a pot of gold at the end of regulation time.

No one else would dare to usurp the costume of the Celtic mascot as his everyday ware, but the inimitable Rondo was unfazed.

In an unusual turn of events, Rondo appeared to sweat during most of the game, especially when the score was closer than a Hammam steam-room where triple doubles are as hot as it gets.
