Topics: Rajon Rondo

Thursday, 22 March 2012

For those keeping abreast of such activities, Rajon Rondo has rekindled his long-simmering friendship with Dwight Howard at the All-Star weekend in Orlando.

If you missed it, during one ridiculous session, Rondo and Howard teamed up for a dunk.

Rondo dribbed into the paint and into the arms of Dwight, who hoisted him up like a child to the basket where Rondo neatly dropped the ball into the hoop.

We haven't seen such shenanigans since the last time the Harlem Globetrotters visited Gilligan's Island for the TV movie and used Gilligan as a similar prop.

All this goes to fan the hearts of Boston dreamers who see Rondo running down court into Dwight's arms to win the 18th elusive NBA banner.

We can only speculate on whether Danny Ainge has sent Rondo on a mission impossible to bring back Dwight. Rumors persist that Rondo will be sent packing sometime in the next week, but if he can bring back the heart of the lion and the Superman cape, he may prove that he has out-Cruised Tom in derring-do.

Yes, Celtics fans are now in a state of ecstatic frenzy over the notion that Rondo and Dwight were having a heavy tete-a-tete after a frothy brew to discuss their futures-together.

If there is one big man who can make Rondo forget the Perkins in his heart, that star belongs to Dwight Howard.

Though Rondo hardly has a reputation for being a snake charmer, he can turn on the smile when he needs to. If Rondo puts a full press on Howard, the magic will melt in his hand.

Big game hunters in the past were lauded for bringing them back alive. Rondo is about to cage the beast of Orlando. Not since King Kong was brought to New York City has there been a showman like Carl Denham Rondo. He wants to present Boston with the Eighth Wonder of the NBA World.

Those who love old movies will recall however, that Beauty lured Kong to the Big Apple, but it didn't end well. Rickety by-plane pilots, known as media blabbers, may shoot down the epic before it happens.
