image for Man City rave about QPR firework display
Guy Fawkes leaving The General Smuts on his way to Loftus Road

Players and fans of Manchester City sat back and enjoyed a sparkling Guy Fawkes party with QPR at Loftus Road on Sunday.

"They are the best team we have played this season and it was a pleasure to be outclassed by a top quality side after getting the cigars out at Man Utd" said expensive Bosnian Bomber Edin Dzeko.

The Maserati drivers of Manchester City spent most of the game lighting the blue touch paper and retiring as QPR lit up the night sky with their aerial bombardment.

"We were told that QPR only had a box of old Brocks bangers and damp squibs but they spent all night firing hot rockets up our Khyber" admitted Roberto Mancini

The Manchester City manager was desperate for a smash and grab victory and tried to counter the fiery form of QPR by getting his £20 million Italian firecracker The Balotelli Bellend out of it's box.

"Super Mario has been setting the house alight recently but his only contribution tonight was to go down like a cheap Ikea table as soon as any QPR player touched him", said the wealthy Italian after his expensive new trousers got spattered with Shepherd's Bush mud.

Millionaire Mancini gave an honest summing up of the Premiership power shift in his post match press conference.

"We got lucky against one of the best teams in the world tonight. They are superior in every department to their noisy neighbours Chelsea and now that Taggart is past his sell-by date, we see QPR as our main rivals rather than Manchester United."

Despite nicking a pulsating game, Roberto Mancini is aware that he may need to splash the cash in the transfer window if his team are to fight off the challenge of cut-price Rangers.

"We will be bringing in several new faces in January and Carlos Tevez has already put his name down for one of them" claimed the handsome Mancini.
