image for Robin hood takes over as manager at Nottingham Forest!
Nottingham Forest are no longer deep in the forest now that Robin Hood has taken over!

After Steve McCLaren resigned to the fact that he would not be raising his umbrella in Nottingham because it never rains there it just pours, a surprise candidate entered the ring to take over; Robin Hood.

Robin is an expert at taking from the rich and giving to the poor so he thought it was about time to take over the helm at the City Ground because that's what their rich directors haven't done for years.

Nottingham Forest once won the European cup and then sunk down to the abyss of the lower levels of football in England. Recently they recovered and their chairman promised Steve McCLaren an umbrella because it was going to rain money, money, money. McLaren took over believing it would really rain money, but it never did. And the only thing Steve ever received was a closed umbrella, but no money.

Robin Hood has promised to change all that; he's appointed Little John as his very "heavy" assistant to make sure the revenue coming in gets invested in half-decent players. Friar Tuck will be his holy assistant, (a prayer never did any harm especially in their situation) and Maid Marian as team masseur (she's bound to stiffen things up).

As for Prince John alias Nigel Doughty, he's got the boot so Robin and his merry men can hopefully put the Forest back where it belongs, but then again in Nottingham you can't see the trees for the Forest.
