An astronaut enters a Chinese-made space capsule as NASA embraces cheaper outsourcing methods.

Recent budgetary cutbacks at NASA have raised eyebrows about approved training methods for new astronauts. Many feel the safety of future flight crews could be in jeopardy.

New trainees are forced to use out-dated space suits, used underwear, and items scavenged from 1960's spacecraft.

A recent GSA probe found that even astronaut qualifications have suffered with applicants being accepted into the program without finishing high school.

"We even have a new trainee who only has an IQ of 67...Not quite the 'rocket scientist' of prior years!" Quoted Ben Stupent, a NASA engineer.

NASA defended its position by pointing to new technology and outsourced manufacturing, "We like to feel that we're more than a global institution, we're actively seeking cheaper and disposable spacecraft! Our newest version is manufactured in China and uses lightweight plastics wherever possible."
