Houston, TX - Stoned NASA officials were red-faced with embarrassment today, when they realized they had made a horrible mistake. It turns out that the MESSENGER (MErcury Sure SENds Great 'ERb) Mission went to the wrong planet! Someone made a mistake, and the little probe took pictures of the planet Nibiru instead of Mercury.
"Maybe we should have drug testing at NASA." said Dr. Karl Saygun, the head honcho of the space agency. "I guess someone, somewhere, made a goof. Oh well." said the silly astronomer. He lit a joint, and tried to forget his troubles.
The MESSENGER probe did take great photos of Nibiru. The photos are of flying saucers, alien cities and all sorts of bizarre extra-terrestrial creatures. Someone not stoned at NASA substituted photos of the moon at the last minute, so Nibiru's secret is still with NASA.
"It's boring to work here at NASA. Workers just look at computer screens all day, and push buttons. It's understandable why all the employees smoke weed." said the very stoned astronomer.
Dr. Saygun then pushed a little button himself, and accidentally launched a nuclear mission at the International Space Station.
"Oops!" he laughed, and lit up another joint.
