Houston, TX - Concerned NASA astronomers informed President Obama today about something unusual discovered in Outer Space. Three gigantic flying saucers are rapidly heading towards Earth, and should arrive on New Years Day. Preliminary calculations suggest the saucers are 20 miles wide. They are assumed to be very dangerous.
NASA spotted the saucers using the new Superduper Telescope, at their Houston headquarters. Expert Senior Astronomer Dr. Karl Saygun is credited with the amazing discovery.
"I saw the saucers myself last night with the telescope. They are shiny and smooth and definitely not natural. We appear to be in a lot of trouble." said the gloomy astronomer.
The Superduper Telescope can see almost everything. It is set to replace the aging Hubble Space Telescope next year. Dr. Saygun was testing the telescope in his office when he made the discovery.
"I saw some other things with the telescope, beside the saucers." said Dr. Saygun. "They looked like cups, spoons, cream, sugar and a coffee machine." he laughed. "I thought we had some testing problems, so I ignored them."
It turns out Dr. Saygun had his new Superduper telescope focused on the NASA coffee-break room, instead of Outer Space. An aide informed Dr. Saygun of his error.
"Oh." said the crestfallen astronomer. "Never mind."
