Houston, TX-- Astronomers working at the Johnson Space Center spotted a familiar face when they were looking through the Hubble Space Telescope (HST). They spotted a galaxy over 124 million light-years away that looked exactly like the singing Scottish spinster, Susan Boyle. Head astronomer Dr. Karl Saygun gave a statement to the press:
"It's an irregular galaxy. It's pretty boring, and not too nice to look at." said Dr. Saygun. "It's grey and lumpy and it looks very dull. It reminded us of Susan, so we named it after her.
The galaxy was previously known as NGC-238373, but now sports the formal name of the Susan Boyle Galaxy. It's located in the Crab constellation.
"It's not a very bright galaxy." continued Dr. Saygun. "Just like Susan, I suppose." he snickered.
Dr. Saygun says most astronomers spend their days looking through the Hubble Space Telescope for galaxies with big breasts. So far they have been disappointed.
When Susan was told about the discovery of the galaxy, she had a predictable response.
"What's a galaxy?" she said.
