image for Cat Meows Like a Songbird
I sound like a Meadowlark

Boris, a 16 pound tabby from Eugene, Oregon, has caught and eaten dozens of song birds over the last nine years.

During the last few years his meow has changed from a gruff kitty to a melodious meow with notes and cadence similar to the Western Meadowlark.

This year Boris has begun to leave fur balls that contain more feathers than fur.

Dr. Emily Stampede Ericksson - veterinarian -- has examined Boris and confirmed the strange meow, curious fur balls, and identified egg shaped scat.

Dr. Ericksson has recommended that Boris be studied in a controlled university research environment.

Has Boris adapted to be more like the birds as a ruse to catch them or has Boris actually genetically changed? Since Boris's notoriety, his primary owner has been in a cat-ownership dispute with their neighbors since he eats at and has the run of two households.

To date no one at the University or elsewhere has been able to get a release document signed to study Boris.

The ownership argument will probably ensure that Boris remains at home(s).

Boris will have none of the falderal and prefers to continue to deplete the meadowlark population aided by his mysterious metamorphosis.

Make C. Cranium's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
