image for Micro Machine Solves Gender Imbalance
Thanks to man's innovation, women no longer need to remember to feel guilty

Nano-technologists have created a washing machine so small it can be fitted into a nose piercing stud. The breakthrough has come after years of painstaking research into the problems associated with getting clothes into the door. Detergent levels and plumbing issues also posed problems, most of which have finally been overcome using advanced problem-solving skills.

John O'Really, sexist-general of the British Assoc. of Nanotechnologists explains, "This is the next big thing at BINT as like to call it. Because men are utterly incapable of using a washing machine, we've freed up the requirement of women being enslaved to the kitchen twenty four hours a day by making this baby an integral part of their daily lives. Quality of life will be so much better now they can do the washing anywhere, provided they have a nose piercing or even better, a belly-button job".

The issue of bulky loads is neatly bypassed by making the door far too small to take any laundry thus eradicating the risk of suffocation. The required amount of washing powder can simply be sniffed up the nostril and by plumbing directly into a woman's tear duct, the water supply can very easily be switched on and off.

The design has been nominated for awards at Think Small 2008
